This opening is intended to be a Full time position.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Manage power generation projects.
  • Create or assist in creating bid documents for sales representatives.
  • Gather all pertinent job information from Caterpillar systems, engineering staff, 3rd party vendors, i.e., emissions data, installation dimensions, wiring diagrams, etc.
  • Compile and process timely submittals/resubmittals of project related documents for customer/engineer approval.
  • Coordinate all equipment delivery and unit start-ups.
  • Provide all construction drawings & wiring schematics to contractor and/or customer.
  • Provide technical assistance to electrical contractor and/or customer.
  • Maintain punch list on each job through completion.
  • Track all project costs and make sure to keep project within estimated allowances.
  • Implement maximum cost savings into each project while promoting quality, ethics, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform a cost analysis on each project.
  • Act as liaison with power sales and service departments through a minimum of weekly job update meetings.
  • Communicate effectively. Actively seek and provide feedback from users, customers, fellow employees, and manager.
  • Complete start up and commissioning of all projects that schedule allows. Utilize the service department where needed but still within project cost allowances.
  • Complete project O&M’s and complete customer product training on jobs required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Store all project related documents and product downloads in job specific folders on Sharepoint.
  • Overnight travel to branch, customer locations or factories.

  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Deliver Cashman’s “Best Customer Experience” for all internal and external customers on a consistent basis.

  • Knowledge of effective customer service techniques including relationship building and partnering.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical computations and understanding of financial reports.
  • Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company authorized software for word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Effectively participates as part of the team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Achieves customer focus by delivering high quality, cost effective service.
  • Achieves positive customer, vendor and service/parts department relations while meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Effectively work as a team member, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the sales and set up of diesel powered engines and generators.
  • Ability to analyze schematics, RFP’s, electrical and mechanical specifications for sales and service accuracy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate degree in a technical or related field. Four (4) years of engine/generator journey level technician experience can be substituted for this requirement, Caterpillar experience preferred.
  • Technical training in engines and generators.
  • Knowledge of practical electricity, engine/generator specific electrical concepts, engine/generator package layout, and general EPG industry knowledge.
  • Job tracking and basic cost accounting.
  • Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company authorized software, such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD/CAM, etc.
  • General understanding of the sales process.

  • Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.
  • Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Must be able to occasionally bend, squat, and climb including ability to ascend and descend ladders.
