SITECH Chesapeake,  a wholly owned subsidiary of Carter Machinery Company, Inc., is hiring a Sales Manager.  SITECH is the authorized dealer for Trimble Heavy and Civil construction products and services, as well as Accugrade grade control products., with a territory that covers the pan handle of West Virginia, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the shores of Delaware.  The Sales Manager position is responsible for directing and leading a team of conceptual sales professionals who provide consulting services and technology products that enable customers to achieve their highest level of success. The Sales Manager is responsible for creating continuous improvement in structure, processes, and incentives that will further increase the sales of the company's core technology products and/or digital services. Other responsibilities include using data analysis of sales numbers, customer accounts, competitive intelligence, and market trend; when necessary, must make adjustments to achieve corporate revenue and profitability goals. This position works closely with the General Manager to develop and prioritize new business opportunities within and outside of the core construction markets. Seeking candidates who are dedicated self-starters with proven industry sales and leadership experience. Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred. 5+ years in the heavy construction equipment industry.

Requirements for the Sales Manager position include:

  • Thorough product knowledge with the ability to effectively market equipment to customers, negotiate terms and close deals.
  • Able to develop and implement sales strategy and planning to align with corporate goals.
  • Strong business acumen including but not limited to budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and setting performance goals.
  • Able to monitor business environment to support and guide management in identifying and addressing business opportunities and challenges.
  • Excellent customer satisfaction skills and the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Must be a good listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to facilitate sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Strong PC skills and the ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology. Effectively use Salesforce CRM in conjunction with sales team to help manage daily activities and to achieve goals.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly evaluate facts and maintain good judgment when making decisions and solving problems.
  • Able to work hours required to meet job and customer demands.

Physical requirements must be met for the Sales Manager job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 20 pounds in weight.  This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.
