Normal Working hours are M-F 8-5, but might be other based on business needs and on-call.


ALTORFER’s Information Technology Department is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to configure, secure and support the Altorfer network infrastructure supporting 30+ locations and more than 1300 employees. 


As a member of our IT Infrastructure team, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for using ALTORFER’s policies and best practices to manage our networking infrastructure. A typical day will involve configuring and supporting network, firewalls and servers. Our ideal candidate will have hands on experience.


We are looking for a collaborative team player that is comfortable supporting a remote workforce at all levels of the organization. Applicants should possess exceptional analytical, communication and follow up skills along with an understanding of the Agile framework.

Basic Duties

  • Architect, supervise and participate in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting a complex corporate data and voice infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability of enterprise voice and data platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact.
  • Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
  • Mentor and educate Altorfer Operations staff on the operation and configuration of Altorfer systems and networks.
  • Perform all activities in keeping with established change management and approval procedures.
  • Other assigned duties


  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or MIS preferred, education requirement can be substituted with demonstrated commensurate experience
  • 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing and maintaining voice-capable TCP/IP networks using Cisco or other enterprise-class equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise Ethernet, VLANs, QOS, routing, switching and IP addressing
  • Understanding of carrier technologies including SIP, MPLS, metro Ethernet and systems interconnectivity
  • Excellent communication skills and experience effectively communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated efficient and effective use of problem-solving and task prioritization to solve complex network challenges
  • Technical Certifications (Cisco/Palo Alto/Aruba Networks) preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position will primarily work in an office environment, there will be times when you are required to go out into the service and warehouse area to work on computers. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Must be able to walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs. and wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields).
