POSITION SUMMARY: The Technology Solutions Supervisor works closely with Product Support, Rental, Sales, and Service departments to provide direction on various corporate initiatives related to digital solutions; including connectivity, eCommerce, equipment management, onboarding, and other related services for Hawthorne.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead Hawthorne’s construction technology products and services, including Product Link, Vision-Link, Cat Central / PCC, Cat Inspect, S·O·S, and related digital solutions.
- Serves as the technical subject matter expert for all aftermarket digital solutions.
- Lead and oversee training for customers and Hawthorne personnel on digital applications, including Cat Central, PCC, and Vision-Link.
- Leads and develops the digital services team and manages departmental performance on key metrics with oversight on employee development and training.
- Continuously improves standard operating procedures for Product Link troubleshooting and installation (CI, P&E). Provide oversight and training for technicians on said SOP’s.
- Develop and execute strategies that increase customer engagement and growth through eCommerce and digital solutions (customer activation, retention, administration, support).
- Grow adoption of equipment/fleet management technology/solutions with customers.
- Analyzes telematics, inspection, and other relevant equipment data to identify data-driven fleet insights and develop customer centric solutions.
- Develops growth strategies for digital application adoption for customer facing sales representatives.
- Partner with Sales, Service, Rental, Marketing, Training, IT, Parts, and Product Support teams to support company initiatives and customer objectives.
- Develop strategies to increase customer up-time through fleet management services.
- Maintains technical expertise in emerging technologies, digital solutions, and industry trends to support business growth and innovation.
- Performs and supports various other duties and projects as assigned to meet the company, department, or individual objectives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ten years of experience in construction equipment industry.
- Five years of digital/technology experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Product knowledge in Caterpillar and associated product lines preferred.
- DBS and/or AS400 experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
- Must have a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a good record.
- Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Read computer and paperwork.
- Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for long periods of time.
- Climbing: Climb on and off earthmoving machines, engines, generators.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
