Painter/Helper Technician - Heavy Equipment

About the Position:

We have a challenging opportunity as a Painter/Utility Position in our Tukwila Branch. This is a key role in our service department. Our Painter/Utility personnel is responsible for repainting machines, generators, and machine components from big to small, old to new, inside and out.

• Responsibilities:
  • Repainting machines, generators, and machine components
  • Maintaining the Paint Bay
  • Ordering parts and materials
  • Steam cleaning machines
  • Prepping machines for paint
  • Repairing metal and fiberglass panels
  • Safely applying masking and paint
  • Operating a track press and cylinder repair (depending on experience)
  • Assisting in other areas of the shop when needed
• Physical Demands:
  • Physically demanding position
  • Extended working hours are common
  • Requires standing for up to eight hours per day
  • Involves twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling
• Skills Required:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective writing skills for utilizing internal and other software programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Outlook
  • Must own required tools

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience preferred
• Valid driver's license (for potential forklift driving and equipment operation)
• Experience with hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, and pressure washers preferred
• Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal
