I.T. Support Specialist
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of information systems-related tasks related to the setup, configuration, repair, and maintenance of new and existing computing hardware, software, and networked assets. The position reports to the Director of Information Systems/Technology.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to end users by working helpdesk tickets and calls for end users.
- Participate in the setup, configuration, repair, moves/adds/changes and integration of new and existing computing hardware, software, peripherals, networking, VoIP telecommunications and other related technologies.
- Provide basic helpdesk/network support to ensure desktops/laptops and other networked peripherals have appropriate connectivity.
- Perform preventative maintenance and setup for a variety of computer-related equipment (including audio-visual equipment and conferencing systems) at multiple locations.
- Participate in installation and first level troubleshooting support/repair of computers and printers.
- Address/resolve IT incidents/service requests and/or escalate to the next appropriate level of support.
- Perform related duties and support special project activities as assigned.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be professional with proper personal appearance at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Degree or Associate’s degree in a college program in computer science, information technology, or related discipline preferred. CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
- Experience with analysis of system issues related to Windows 11 enterprise operating systems, Office 365 installation, access issues and network connections, and anti-virus programs.
- Ability to perform conversion, setup, troubleshooting of Windows 11 environment on laptops and desktops.
- Ability to execute multi-application software installations and effectively manage network security and setup.
- Basic understanding of network operations and functions as it pertains to desktops and laptops.
- Basic understanding of printer set up and troubleshooting.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills, detail orientation, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-sensitive environment.
