Position Summary

This position will lead and facilitate teams to execute continuous improvement projects to improve critical business processes that drive improvements in customer loyalty, employee satisfaction, market share, and financial results. The role supports continuous improvement efforts through the application of Lean Six Sigma, 5S, and other improvement methodologies, while engaging employees in problem solving and improvement activities. This position will scope and execute projects, develop project plans and business cases, and work under the guidance and support of senior continuous improvement leaders.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and execute continuous improvement projects of low to moderate complexity with guidance from senior continuous improvement leaders.
  • Teach, mentor and apply Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools to analyze processes, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to support improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, productivity, cycle time, cost, customer experience and other critical key performance indicators for the company.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, timelines, metrics, and status updates.
  • Track project performance using defined metrics and assist in reporting progress, results, and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with cross?functional teams and stakeholders to support improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement training, workshops, and kaizen events.
  • Escalate risks, barriers, and issues appropriately and seek guidance when managing ambiguity or complexity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No formal supervisory responsibilities.
  • May lead project teams or improvement events and coordinate activities of team members within assigned projects.

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Associates Degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management or equivalent years of experience
  • 3 years of documented continuous improvement experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification
  • 5 years or more years of professional experience
  • Ability to travel to different branch locations, daily.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading employees in any setting (e.g., service, retail, office, manufacturing, or warehouse environments), with accountability for people, performance, and day to day work execution.

Preferred:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or Operations Management
  • Leadership Experience

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Foundational knowledge of continuous improvement concepts, including Lean, Six Sigma, and problem?solving methodologies.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support improvement initiatives using tools such as Excel, basic statistical methods, and data visualization techniques.
  • Working knowledge or willingness to learn advanced analytics tools such as Minitab and Power BI to support process analysis and reporting.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and the ability to identify opportunities where these tools may support process improvement with guidance from senior leaders.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, peers, and leadership.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, support workshops, and contribute to team discussions in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem?solving, critical?thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change, manage ambiguity, and receive coaching and feedback as part of professional development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools used for project management and communication.

Other Requirements of Position

  • Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually report on such problems.  More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
  • Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies.
  • If an error is made while in this position, it will require some effort to identify and a moderate effect on the company.
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers, customers, and management.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents.
